Key Stage 1 2019
Children at the end of Year 2 are assessed using Standard Assessment Tasks (SATS). The results are used to compare the performance of children nationally.
Phonics Check 2019
Children at the end of Year 1 are assessed on their use of phonics. The phonics screening check is a short and simple assessment of phonic decoding. It consists of a list of 40 words, half real words and half non-real words, which Year 1 children read to a teacher. This helps teachers identify children who need additional support with phonics. Children who score above the threshold (32/40 in 2019) are considered to have passed the check. Children who score below the threshold will repeat the phonics screening check at the end of Year 2.

Early Years Development
Children are defined as having reached a good level of development at the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage if they have achieved at least the expected level in:
- The early learning goals in the prime areas of learning (personal, social and emotional development; physical development & communication and language) and;
- The early learning goals in the specific areas of mathematics and literacy.
Good Level of Development (GLD) at the end of Reception in 2019 = 79% (National 72%)
